i think this is a problem with the head unit,   for awhile when playing at high levels the outputs on the head uniot would cut out, you would have to shut off the radio and turn it back on, the radio appears that it is still working but no sound from the rca's or spekear leads..now the radio is cuttiong out randomly at low levels and when windows roll down blinker is put on, im thinking maybe i need to re ground it or could the unit be defaulty?   The amp is not going into protection when the radio cuts out.

Could be a faulty HU, but could also be a bad LOC, cut insulation or bad RCA cables, shorted speakers or speaker wires, bad power or ground leads, faulty wiring harness adapter, loose connections... in fact it could be almost anything.  I suggest checking all hookups and RCA's as a first step.

Good luck.

Does the problem exists on am/fm as well as on cd? Ground wire sound suspect to me, as does a shorted speaker wire in the window, roll down the window and it may be making contact with a speaker wire or forcing a speaker wire to short against something. Thus this would also send the deck into protection.

ok here is the latest. i bypassed the in dash EQ...im thinking it might be bad it is a tempory replacment for the alpine i fried while trying to talk on the phone and rewire...dont try that unless its your own car and even then not recomended...haha      but anyways everything works now....not quite as clean, or load for that matter. the 3.5volt outputs on the deck arn't as nice as the 6 volt outputs per channel on the eq...but i guess tille i rip the dash apart and see what the deal is i wont know, i think it might have to do with the rigged eq power wires. i had to soilder to each pin of the back of the eq and some were sloppy so i think maybe when the eq starts draining current at high levels something is going spark!   as far as the window lights and turn signals shutting the amp into protect because of something faulty in the EQ i dont know but everything works fine now that the EQ is bypassed....thought i would let everyone know in case they come up with the problem
