Howdey again...ok..i just got a Kenwood Equilizer (KGC-4300) from a friend and it appears that it has an external amp..does any one know if this is correct? this is the wiring on the thing..

Positive
Ground
REAR R (two wires)
REAR L (two wires)
FRONT R (two wires)
FRONT L (two wires)
and one big ass DIN cable with 8 pins, one common (the outside)

I am assuming that this equilizer goes to an amp through the din cable and the REAR and FRONT wire pairs are inputs, rather than outputs..

Does any one know how I could just use the equilizer part? nebody any thing about this unit or ones like it?  Here are a few pics:

Yup, U right...it's an EQ with built in pre-amp..........since the pre-amp is built in, gotta use it...but trust me, it ain't all that beefy of an amp....

If you know how to hook it up, go for it........but I' will warn...it's old!!!  I can't even find the installation manual on Kenwoods web site...maybe someone else remembers how it goes in.....

hmm...ok..ive been trying to research this thing and i think this now:

the 8 pin din connector is for older radios...(the input i believe) and the wires out of the back of the equalizer are outputs.. I found this on a website...its a little big but shows what might be the case..(I DONT BELIEVE THIS IS A KENWOOD RECIEVER)

See the 'To Equilizer' part? that could be the pin config....but im not sure..i have a DMM but i am having no avail with any of the din pins to any wires out of the unit  (except ground..hehe) that could be because the unit is off....but who knows! posted_image i hope someone might know..and help me out!! I would love to make this thing work!  thanx!

Hey Sparky,

I have a unit just like that sitting in the garage collecting dust. I did not have a wiring diagram for it so it's just sitting there too.
