I own a 1997 Subaru Legacy GT with its stock cd/cassette head unit. It has worked fine until this morning when I turned my car on. The buttons on the head unit lit up and the background of the LCD lit up as well but there was nothing displaying on the LCD. It was just blank. I couldn't play cds or eject them either. I took removed the head unit and unplugged and replugged the wire harness. After doing this, everything was working fine until turning my car off and back on a few times and the problem started again. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I would like to fix it myself because it seems like a petty repair to me. Thanks ahead of time.

Usually with my experience working in the install bay at Circuit City stock decks sometimes go bad for the heck of it. You'll get those cars out of say a 100 with a bad deck that will go on ya only after 8 years. The best thing to do would be to get an aftermarket deck and pitch the stock one. Or you will be a nice fee to get it repaired or replaced at the dealership. Hope that helps...
