Toyota Estima/Previa Speakers

having purchaced a japanese import toyota estima/previa i fitted my older model pioneer keh-m7000b max amp output = 25w x4 / continuous output = 13w x4 which i connected to the original 4 speaker system, the sound quality is dreadful and i had this system fitted to my previous car with different speakers without problem... are the standard speakers not capable ( i dont know wattage ) and any suggestions to improve without replacing them as i am reluctant to remove the panels if possible?????

The stock speakers suck blue whale for sq, they are also probably very inefficient. They are also as old as the vehicle is (very tired I imagine). Your best bet is to replace them with new coax speakers. Eclipse makes some very good sounding efficient coax speakers. A van has more space to fill up as compared to a small car, thus efficiency of the speakers and size of the amp is important for overall volume output. Do not assume that because the speakers say 200watts on them they magically produce that much, they produce what they are given, in this case they are given 13 watts each.

Start by sigh..taking the panels off and find out what size speakers you need. Some Toyota's use an amp on the rear speakers, no worries, we can tackle that problem later. Once you have found out what size they are, take them with you if you want, head into a local stereo shop and listen to ones the simliar size. Buy the ones that your ears like and will fit your budget. If it is not loud enough once it is installed then you can consider an amp for them or a small sub.

I definitely reccomend them.

Most Toyota panels use clips on the backside of them, you will need a panel tool to remove these clips properly or risk damaging the panel itself. A panel too almost looks like a fork, but only with two tines, the clip fits between the two tines. A tool like this should be found at your local auto parts store. Also look for scres that may or may not be visible, there should be a minimum of two that usually anchor the doorpanel to the door in the area where you pull the door closed. Look for plastic caps that may cover hidden screws as well.
