Is it possible to have both ported and sealed enclosures in one vehicle? ex: two 10 sealed, and two 10 ported. Or 12 sealed and 10 ported, etc. Or maybe bandpass? Im planning on using a 2500.1 Viper and Orion H2s. My goal is to have LOUD (spl possible), clean bass. This will be in a mini van, so size isnt much of a problem as there is no trunk.\ Any Ideas?

Yeah it's possible but wouldn't it be a lot easier just to go all ported!

I have heard a lot of ported play super loud and have verry good sound quality!

all ported huh...how many h2s do you think id need...2, 3, or 4? or what other sub might you reccomend for clean bass?

no way..go all bandpass but make sure you know your volume levels so you know your not distorting the speakers! bandpass is a hell of a lot more SPL, and actually ment for it too, than ported.

Bandpass more SPL than ported? Well, maybe at the bandpass frequency in certain types of applications, but in general SPL installations want ported enclosures with multiple large drivers. Period. Back to the original question: using several enclosure types in one vehicle. Sure, there's no problem with that. My question is why would you want to, or why did you think it might be a good idea?

If you want all out SPL, then check out DD's subs. They are designed for it. Here's a link: https://www.ddaudio.com/. The H2 is more of a sound quality sub. i was thinking of both part for looks, and also to attempt to get sq and spl...ive always been a believer of bandpass my self, but i want to hear other opinions before i start my latest project! Lots of great info coming in...keep it comin! -------------

Personal opinion only but bandpass is sh#t for sound quality ,Go with sealed if you want the best sq although ported can sound verry nice and loud. Bandpass boxes are verry boomy and are not so accurate on certain frequencies while ported has a deep response and verry loud output while manting a overall clean sound.
Basically a sealed can sound tight with verry deep response and awesome sound quality as long as the box is right for the sub but a sealed box will need more power to play at the same volume of a ported box.
So if its spl you want but also need a clean accurate sounding bass then i think ported will suit you verry well.
And another thing although bandpass boxes need very little power to play loud they are still a sloppy sounding bass design. If you Give a ported box a good amount of power, a big box that matches the speakers specs you will have extreme output and good sq with extended deep bass around the ports frequencie range.
