yes the kicker solo barics is what i am talking about..i did a search on them and there saying on different site dual 2 ohms on some and dual 4 ohms on others....i am putting two of these behind the seat of a 1996 chevy s10.straight cab the amp that i have is 300x2 @4 ohms and 370 x2 @ 2ohms rms.....if these end up being dual 2 ohms what is the best way to wire them to this amp? thanks again

how would that diagram work for two subs when the amp is 2 ohm stereo stable if i bridge it it is 740x1@4 ohms so if i wire the two subs like that and bridge the amp wont it mess it up since it is 2 ohm stable in stereo???????couldnt i wire them to 4 ohms each and run the amp to put out 300x2 @ 4ohms.

k well what they mean is that these subs can be wired in either 4 ohm or 2 ohm. what kind of amp do you have, give me the model name for it

Wrong, sorry dude. It means these subs can be bought as one of two models either a dual 2 ohm model or as a dual 4 ohm model. I do not think (Kicker dealer speak up please) that the subs are labelled as to their impedance on the bcak, probably only by model#, this means that you will have to meter the subs to verify the impedance to find the right amplifier.

k but still though..state the amp model # and we could go from there, and tell you which is the best way to wire the subs. you prolly wouldnt need it, but just to be extra safe you know.

Thats right Rob they are sold in two for four ohms. I just bought one so I know. It is marked on the box and also the speaker itself. the model number may even reference it though it doesnt on my box. I have seen them online with a 2 or a 4 in the model number though. Unfortunately I cant tell ya how it sounds cause I just got it and have been working 12 hour days so I havent had time to build a box and install it yet.

i am going to build the box for these myself and normally i use 3/4 mdf but i am kind tight for space as this is in a regular cab s10 i was wondering would it hurt to use 1/2 since it is relatively a small box?? thanks for all the input so far it has been a great help.....

Yes, with such a small sealed box you can use 1/2" mdf, try to use a brace or 2 inside the box if you can to help keep the box sides from flexing.
