ihave 2 12w3v2's dual 2 ohm being powered by a 500/1. they are wired to 2 ohm. i want to put another w3 on the amp. if wire them to produce a 1.3 ohm loadwould that be hard on the amp. or should i wire them in series at a 3 ohm load. would the amp produce a little more power at a 1.3 ohm load?
The JL amp produces the same *power* at any ohm from 1.5 to 4.

No you shouldnt go lower then 1.5 ohms. Iike dcgc said it puts out the same amount of power between 1.5 and 4 ohms. Besides i would go with the 1000/1 if you upgrade to a third W3v2.
If I'm not mistaken the actual load from the JL is an average. My 500/1, that I am not using anymore, had a load of 1.3ohm when I checked with a digital meter when I upgraded my 10w3D4's to my 12w6v2's. I ended up using a load (from amp) at 4ohm. which actually reads 3.5ohm.

Was that reading a constant reading or the lowest reading you got dcgc?
i wsa told by the best car audio guy that the 500/1 could take another sub. and i figured it out: i could wire each sub to 1ohm andhook them to the amp in series producing a 3ohm load. is that not correct?
let me correct that
i was told by the best car audio guy around my area
yes that is correct, go to the
JL Website there are many wiring config using thier products online, but you can run the 3 subs at a 3 ohm load to this amp and you will be fine....in a sealed box, considering you are going to be cuttin power to each sub. you shouldnt expect more then a 2-3 db increase
