Im trying to put in a new radio in my 95 nissan altima and I wanted to know what the dimmer and illumination wires were. What do they do? And are they needed for the radio to work.

Illumination RED / Blue
Dimmer RED / Yellow

Illumination is to light up the radio
Dimmer is to adjust the brightness on the radio

Do not use.... Most cd players do not have these wires on their respective harnesses.
