Hi, I'm interested in using Q-forms for my 03' F-150. The stock locations in the doors get blocked by my leg or passenger's leg. The kick's are my next guess. Getting a more equal path-length should help imaging. I can get a Koda 6 for m/b in the door and then move the Quart QM-218.02 to the forms. Any suggestions or opinions on the Q-forms? Thanks. John

Also if you want to improve imaging even more some of Alpines HUs have a time adjustment. I've heard it helps alot.

yes, it does help a tonne....just only for the location you set the timing for. If you set it for driver's ear,,,then it sux ass for everyone else.

Time alignment does help however my problem is actually having the drivers blocked. AlpineGuy is correct, adjusting for a specific listening position does suck for everyone else! My HU is an Alpine 7998 which has presets for different aligment settings. Time delay will change the apparent sound stage depth and relative position. My problem is similar to sitting in your living room listen to music and someone puts a wooden door in front of a speaker. The only thing that needs aligning is moving the door!
Time alignment can also cause slurring and hollowness if not set correctly. The more you add DSP, the more processed sound you will get. Solid driver placement with little or no DSP is always the best place to start!
Back to the Q-forms, any suggestions or comments welcome!

Most Q-Logic kick panels will not fit a mid the size of an MB Quart, the largest Quart driver that can fit is a 5.25" mid. If you want to go for it, then adventures in fibreglassing is in your future. ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
