well i have 2 12" MA audio's MA12D6, and i am WANTING to build a ported box for them. now, each sub is recommended of 2.5cu/ft for each sub. and i have to build a 5cu/ft sub box in order for them to work. but the only trouble is that my trunk would be too small, i wouldnt be able to get the sub box into my trunk as is, the dimemnsions for the ported box is 34Wx14Hx23D. is there any ways of like making the box smaller or something.

Here's the OEM recomendations I found for your woofer: Optimum Vented Box: 2 Cu/Ft Round Port Diameter: (3) 3” Square Port Area: 21 Sq/In Port Length: 14” Optimum Sealed Box: 0.75 – 1 Cu/Ft So if you want a small enclosure, make it sealed with about .8 cuft per chamber. To build a ported enclosure, you will need to make it 2 cuft with 3X3'X14" round ports, per woofer. A pretty large box. If it won't fit into your car, then I think you have your answer....

you could go with a vented box, this may sound like a pain but it makes it possible and pretty much theft proof. make a deep but lox box 14 in high or so...and take out your rear seat and front seat to get the box into the trunk. this is esecentially what i did one customer he had a fox body mustang, not a very deep trunk at all! but we made it work just fine

well considering it was super cold outside today. (-60 with the windchill) i tried to start my car, nu uh. nothing at all. but while i was out there i messered the trunk width and it was 39"s and the box i have in there is 14.5"s so if i make the vented box 39Wx14.5Hx20D i should be fine.........i hope.

good call.....just make sure you measure And remeasure.....there is nothing worse then building a box then not being able to fit it in....like i said befoe its kinda a pain, but you can remover rear and paassenger seats to get the box in the trunk, not a hard task normally a few bolts

the car i put the "big" box in is a civic so removing seats let me fit it in, just measure your clearence from inside the car to the trunk and dont go higher then that. you should be able to build a box to fit spec's for these subs
