Dodge Ram/Ford Mustang?

I just replaced the door speakers (6x9) on a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Off Road Series, and mounted on the baskets were what I believe were crossovers, counoured to fit around one side of the magnets. Are these crossovers? Also, if these are used, am I to assume that there is also an amplifier also?

My second question concerns a 2001 Ford Rustang(not misspelled) with the Mach 460 system and a 6-disk in dash changer, stock options. My girlfriend wants me to put a subwoofer setup in her car. My questions are: am I lucky enough to be dealing with a stereo equipped with rca outs? Does the radio have an anti theft "Lock mode"? Whats the power output of the head unit, or amps? What sort of line out converter should I use if needed? Is it possible to "Daisy Chain" A sub amp to the stock amp located innder the rear window deck? I think I have asked enough questions for the pooe soul who takes the time to answer.

OBLIVIOUS AND CURIOUS.

I can only reflect on the mustang. 

1) No, there are no RCA outputs on the OEM head unit

2) No, there is no anti-theft "lock mode" on the radio.  In fact, the only thing keeping it in place are 2 bolts under the shifter boot.

3) I don't know what the head unit is pushing, because everything is going to the 1st of 3 amps (all speaker leads run through this amp first, and are pre-amped before being routed to the other 2).  Amp 1 (located on the floor under the dash) controls the 4 - 2" tweeters.  Thats right, all 4 (front doors and rear deck).  Amp 1 is 30 watts RMS x 2, 60 watts peak.  Amps 2 and 3 are both located in the rear deck (one on each side of the car).  The rear driver's side pushes the 2 front 6x8's in the doors, and the rear passenger's side pushes the 2 rear 6x8's in the rear deck.  Amps 2 and 3 are 45 watts RMS, 85 watts peak.

4) I din't know what type of line converters you would need, but it is possible to daisy chain a feed from one of the rear amps.  If you do this you will get signal degredation though.

I just finished overhauling a Mach 460 from an '02 mustang.  Same setup.  I got fed up early due to the whole pre-amp deal, and the way Ford wires sh*t.  I'm still waiting on the schematics from Ford, they should be here this week.  Now I'm finishing up a personal custom install that will put the stock 460 system to shame!  Let me know if you need anything else

The Dodge speakers ( Infinity Series ) have crossovers built into the side of the magnet you are correct. The Dodge truck has an amp that you need to power up in order for the fronts to work but the tweeters and the rear are powered by the deck. On the OEM radio BLACK harness there will be one wire left that is not connected to anything, this is the remote turn on lead for the amplifier. Hook up the remote turn on lead of the HU that you wish to install.

Much thanks, WVSquirrel. That link really helped a lot. I have decided to use a Fusion line out converter for the mustang's signal. One more question on it... can I just tap into the remote wire from one of the rear amps for the sub-woofers' amp turn on? I would think so.
