1  how often do i space the braces?

2  what size should the braces be?

I just posted this on another thread, but my personal idea is to place a brace across any inner surface that is longer than 1/2 the diameter of the woofer you are using.  I have no scientific reason for this, but it works.

For brace material, you can use 1X1 pine, or just take your left over 3/4" MDF and cut strips 1.5" to 2" wide and use them.
