This weekend or next I am going to install an entirely new system in my 1993 Volvo 949 sedan. I will have two amps, a small box subwoofer and a Sat radio tuner to put into the trunk. I am looking for suggestions on how to put all this in the trunk and still keep everything clean. I want to ensure that I can easily remove my subwoofer if I desire for extra space, that rules out attaching the amps to the sides of the sub. I was thinking of getting some speaker carpet and covering two small pieces of MDF, then attaching it to the right and left side of the back of the trunk so the amps and sat tuner would sit upright. This would allow the sub to sit inbetween them. Looks like a lot of work. Just curious what the experts do out there? Also any suggestions where to buy speaker carpet cheap? Local install shop? Thanks in advance!

Here is a nice stealth method for mounting an amp in many sedans. It also hides and protects the amp and keeps wiring out of the way. Under your rear deck and between the rear speakers is usually a wide open cavity (in most cars, not sure about yours). I quite often mount an amp in this area. I take a sheet of 1/8" aluminum and cut it down to a workable and bendable size, it bends quite easy in a vise with a hammer. I attach one lip to the underside of the deck, closest to the trunk, make sure not to mount to an area that protrudes to the exterior. I mount the other edge to the front top lip where the back seats fold up against. The aluminum can be bent down at the rear to come down however far you need it to and then bend 90 degrees again to go towards the front of the car. Upholster the aluminum with color matching trunkliner, mount the amp above with bolts from below and voila, instant solid mount that is really hard to steal and protects from cargo area. This just might work for you.
