Which amp has the larger fuse, the one with the larger fuse usually will have a higher output, regardless of what is pasted all over the heatsinks. Warranty may also be something to consider as well.

Do you guys think he would do good with a Precision Power PC250 which is 100 watts @ 2ohms X 2?

I know PPI watts is underrated..

Refurbished scares me as a dealer, especially Kicker and Rockford right now. Sometimes refurbs work great, other times they can come back to haunt you. Have a look around for other options. Consider a Concept cc500m ($399.00 CDN) (they are on sale right now and have a 3 year warranty) and I'm sure you'll get a whole pile more recommendations as well.

the sub is rated 200 rms and 600 peak is the profile being rated at 420 x 1 rms going to be too much for this sub and should i use an external x-over as well i have a alpine cda-7893 wich has a subwoofer output on it..thanks for the advice guys rob (forbidden) you really know your $hit......

You should only need about a 200 watt amp for this sub. The Profile amp's power rating is probobly over rated but it would still be giving that sub to much. The thing that kind of sux though is that there are no mono amps that ouput 200 watts at 2 ohms that i have found. Most will put out at least 300 watts RMS. Should've bought the single voice coil version of this sub. Also the fuse rating is just a rough peak power rating of an amp ,so I wouldnt use it to compare amps.

Concept makes a decent small 250w mono sub amp that is designed to operate at 2 ohm mono. Have a look also at a Rockford 200m.
