When I turn my car on, my amp works for aound 30 seconds, then the protection light comes on, and it no longer works.  I realize this is probably a simple question, but what is wrong, and what can i do to fix this?

Do you have some speaker strands over hanging into the opposing terminal ? This would put the amp into protection mode

I replaced the speaker wires altogether and made sure tere were no loose wires, and it still goes into protection mode.  What things in general can send an amp into protection mode?

Just a huntch but do you have the same set of speakers or are they two different types? Are they the same ohm load?

This also happened to me when I first installed my system and the amp would come on and protection light would come on and I just replaced the fuse on my power (red) wire and it fixed it right up, give it a shot
