alternator whine in one speaker

I am getting alternator noise from my front right component set only . It was there with the amps hooked up and it is still there with the amps removed and the speaker wires disconnected in the trunk . does any one have any ideas? p.s. the speaker wires do not cross my power cables

Are those wires touching each other. Make sure you have a good connection between the wires and you actual speakers.

Don't let the smoke out of your equiptment..it doesn't go back in.

This symptom is caused by a speaker wire or speaker connection terminal being shorted to ground somewhere.  You'll have to check all speaker terminals to see if one might be touching ground (make sure they are well insulated) and check every inch of your wiring to see if it is pinched or cut or otherwise grounding.  Double check any splices to make sure there is no exposed bare metal (and if there is, electrician's tape to the rescue!)

Or a crossover that is mounted too near another electrical component like an engine control computer, try moving the crossover as well.
