What is the difference between DVC and SVC?

Would DVC mean direct connection and SVC mean series connection? I have series connection. Well I just want to now what people think of Alpine Type R's and how they sound. I have heard them bridged in my brothers amp and for some reason they didnt pound as much as his 1 12 MTX blue thunder did. I dont know the problem. It is a memphis audio 250 mono with 600 bridged. My subs should have blown his one away. I'll try porting the box and see what happens... Please reply

DVC stands for Dual Voice Coil. SVC stands for Single Voice Coil. It has to do with speaker design, not connection

Hi !

yes the DVC dual voice coil and Single Voice Coil description from vwsquirrel is correct, maibe the way your'e connecting your subs to the amplifier is the reason they dont sound as well as you wish, in speakers (subs) with DVC both of the coils must be wired to the amp, depending on the coils connection array (series, parallel, series-paralell, paralell) is the load presented to the amp and this could affect the response of it, check out for the wiring recomneded and the impedance recomended by the amp manual.
