i want to spend between $100-150 on front speakers (6.5") and was pretty much settled on JL audio 6.5''s (not sure about the model number-i'm buying from a local shop) my question is should i go with component speakers instead. components cost a lot more money and i'm not interested in buying cheap components instead of nice coaxials. what do you recommend?

Buy what you can afford right now, if good co-ax speakers fit the budget, go for it. If you buy marginal components, your still going to want to uprgrade later on but you have wasted more money on buying the wrong speakers.

I think that's great advice.  In fact because of that, you may want to consider resale value.  It will probably be a lot easier to sell the coaxial speakers later because they are a little easier to install.

Of course the best thing to do is put up a little longer with what you have, and save even more money to get a really nice set.  After all, the front speakers are 90% of what you will hear and will make the biggest difference on how good your stereo sounds.

i cannot see myself ever spending $450 for mb quartz component speakers or something similar so i guess nice co-ax's are my best option. thank you.
