I have a 2002 BMW 325CI. I have replaced the stock stereo w/ all aftermarket equipment. I did not reuse any of the stock wiring. I did reuse the antenna and purchases an OEM adapter to fit to the non-standard connection.

The antenna however doens't get any reception. I read every where that the stock antenna is poweRED / amplified. I have a antenna turn on lead on the aftermarket HU but I need to know what pin on the stock harness to connect it to.

try just getting the powered ant, adapter, the one the converts the bmw ant, to the aftermarket size, but the powered version has a blue wire comming off the adapter, just hook that to a 12v source.

Not sure how that would work. The BMW antenna is one cable and the radio harness is another. I have the adapter to make the antenna fit. What I need to know is which wire in the radio harness I have to supply 12v to turn on the antenna smp. The OEM antenna amp wiring is in the OEM radio harness.

If you have a meter, plug the factory radio back in ( you may need the code for it to work again). Run the cd player first and meter to find the constant and ignition power lines as well as any other lines that may give +12 volts. Now turn on the tuner and check for any new lines that may give +12 volts, that should be the power antenna trigger line.

i'm not too sure if this is the right place to put this but the amplified antenna adapter is mostly for am reception, if the antenna is in the glass, (looks like a funny defroster) then you need to power up the module to get it to work correctly. follow forbidden's instructions on finding the correct turn on wire for the antenna, and the adapter you have should work.

Yes that is right. There is a module that needs to be powered up. The car has an antenna in the rear window. The module is in the rear driver's side pillar that much I know. Just need to find the wire that turns it on.

No time this week though. I will take the advice and hookup the OEM HU and measure to find the right pin. Maybe this Weekend
