I've got my RF HE2 12" in a custom built box on the inner ledge of my trunk in an 83 hurst. Its roughly 1.25 cubic feet, if i put some polyfil into the box and trick the sub into thinking the box is much larger, whats my result going to be?

How much polyfil do i load into it and whereabouts can I find polyfil?? Audio store, or do they carry it at like Lowes or Menards or a Home Depot?

woohoo, finally a question I know the answer to!
You can get polyfill at any fabric store, walmart, kmart or similar stores. It should be around the fabrics somewhere.
And that ends what I know about the rest of this post...

Walty, It has been my experience that by tricking the sub into reacting as if there is more air space. You gain exactly that. A sub that reacts more to it's nature. I will also say, that in my opinion, it does not exactly mimic the results that you would receive if you were capable of giving the sub exactly what it requires. But Hey- who is perfect. We do what we can with what we have. If everyone had all the space they needed and an endless budget then, I would be rich. It could happen. Just keep following Alice down that hole and see where you wind up. In short, you should receive a deeper more accurate sound. If you overfill, then it will be exactly that. Too much air for that particular woofer to move.. This might not be good. Need more info. to get more specific. At least in my dimented mind I think I am right\ Who was that, where are they going. Wait, I want to go too. -------------

General rule of thumb is 1 pound of fill per cubic foot if you are trying to increase the size of the box, or at least make the woofer think that you are. Be careful though, as a bigger box has a little less control over the cone, and it then becomes a little easier to bottom out the woofer. What are you trying to accomplish? Is the woofer not loud enough? Or is not deep enough? Let us know and we can give you some more goods to go on!

your on the right trac polyfill does make the speaker make it look like a bigger box but what you failed to notice is that now your adding more volume into the box so your 1.25 ft3 box now is smaller because you add the polyfill.in order for that to work you wouold have to make the box bigger to accomadate the polyfill so that way the overall volume of your box is 1.25ft3.
