I'm not sure if they're generic. They're definitely german. Hard to get a hold of out by me too. A buddy of mine used to have a set of them 12", in a bandpass box. They sounded pretty nice. For 100 bucks, They are a good deal. I'd pay 100 bucks for 2 of them. Good luck man.

Big magnets does not = good speaker. Have a look into a magnet type called Neodynium, it is expensive, but extremely light and has much more magnetic force than a low energy and inexpensive and large iron magnet, next up would be a strontium magnet etc. Volfenhag has a German name, but is in fact made in Singakoreachinatiawanapore. It is OK entry level equipment, it may one day be a mainstream, but have a lot of proving themselves first. It is easiest for them to market their equipment in avenues like E-Bay and e-tailers rather than main line car audio dealers. Every year there is 10 or more companies that bring products to market, and every year there is 10 or more that go out of business, some of the lucky few make it to main stream or high end status, but it takes time.

Yea, i agree with forbidden. I was just merely saying, that from the experience i had with them, 2 12" VH subs for 100 bucks is a steal.

I have sold Volfenhag in the past.  Maybe I had bad luck but then, oh well...that also equaled bad profit. I sold/sell then Kicker Comps for ten bucks less each. The kicker's sounded better and louder amp for amp and handled more power although rated for much less. I have not directly compared them to other speakers to that extent. Experience hails where ratings fail.

JL W0 subs would sound better then both of those for about the same price. The volfenhag subs would probobly play louder but not better.

JL W0 subs are about as much or less then those volfenhag or sony xplodes. Like i said the volfenhags may be loud, and good for spl but sound like crap.

personally I havent had any experience withvolfenhags so I dont know if they are any good, sony subs work ok if you throw a whole wack of power at them but if not they show very little control, and as far as JL W0's go, I have had 2 different sets and both sets were a huge dissapointment. The surrounds on the one set just disinigrated and one in the other set developed a seperated voice coil. I was not at all impressed. In the end, if you are looking for subs you should pick out one reputable store that sells gear you are interested in and go there for a demo of speakers in your price range. Will they sound the same as in your car, absolutly not but they will all be demoed in the same enviroment and off the same amp so you can still get  a decent Idea of what you like best. Also If you have friends that have gear and you like their stuff, and it fits your price range just buy it.

it does if its from a authorized retailer.

Definatley check out the type-r's, but if you can't afford to power them, look at the type-e, or type-s , all way better that those sony;s and volfencraps.  I heard then volfencraps before, they couldn't play a single note right.

wat is affordable i am willing to spend under $250 anything above that is stupid damn idoits paying so much for speakers lolz its just an opinion no offense u ballers out there that spend 15g'z on a system lolz $$$

I'm confused. The type r's are good subs for 200$ probably 250 with shipping. Suburb I didn't say manufacturer's warranty, I said warranty. So Bangbang why are you persstant in that your only choices are volfs and sony's. I did read your question and the rest of your posts and it seemed like money was your concern. So why buy crappy subs instead of good ones?

If you want volfenhag then buy it. I doubt they will be any better then the Sony Xplode subs, so you'll just be wasting your money probobly. Why not just buy some Alpine Type S or JL Audio W0 subs?

is sound quality at all important? or are you looking for cheap bass? from what i'm reading, it seems like you don't care at all about sound quality since you think spending over $250 is stupid. for 250, you can buy one 12" elemental design sub which will more than likely have more output than 2 12's of the brands which you are set on. if you are really set on cheap bass, then just get audiobahn. not only will you have bass, but you'll also get a whole lot of chrome.posted_image

1 kicker 12" compvr for $175 , wat i'm i going to do with 1 i need to, then its going to cost me $350 i could  probably get some rims or a body kit for my car, or get 1 ppi amp. lolz im not sure what to do. yes money is my concern sound quality is not important. my point of view for subs, is to produce bass or my favorite DISTORTION, any the interrior speakers and tweeters provide the sound. should should do it.

Listen man, if you need two subs for under 250$ total you can still get some quality stuff. I personally hate JL but you can get a couple W0's for about 250 and the will sound far better and give you more output than the sonys will. I have never tried these other subs your talking about but I have not heard anything good from anyone about them. The sonys can sound good but you need to throw a whole wack of power at them and you arent willing to spend the money on an amp to do that, so I would go with the JL's and be happy.

https://www.edesignaudio.com/ep2/products.htm

take a look at these. they are a great product.

Also: i'd recommend moving to a shiva from adire audio, buts its 12" and i see you have 10's.  Id go with the eD subs, quality is far more superior to most subs out there.
