Hi, I'm getting a new system and would like your guys' input and opinions.  I decided to get alpine, and would like to stick with it.  I have a CDA-9811 headunit, SPS-170A and SPS-130A speakers, and SWS-1041 subwoofer (4-ohm version).  All I need now is to choose between 2 amps, the MRD-M300 or the MRP-M350.  I can get the MRP-M350 for $169 and the MRD-M300 for $229, both without tax.  I've been planning to get the M350, but now that the M300 is on sale, I can't decide on which one.  Is the $60 difference really worth it for the better amp?  Is it  more efficient than the MRP-M350?  What will each amp actually run at 4-ohms and would the MRD-M300 be supplying significantly less power than the MRP-M350?  Once again, this is my first system and any experiences, opinions, and/or input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance! :D

The MRP-M300 will do you just fine. There is a difference but you can't notice the diff. by ear.

If you're buying online make sure that the dealers is certified and reliable. Avoid ebay because any of the products you purchase off of them you wont get any warranty or tech support from the manufacture. Just becuase someone says they are a dealer dosn't mean they are. Both of these amps are pretty much the same except the MRD-M300 has more features(like a subsonic filter and voltage read-out) and a little less power. I would only buy the MRD-M300 if you want more features or a cool looking amp. I think the MRP-M350 would be fine for you because it offers more RMS power(which could come in handy if you ever wanted to add another sub) and a lower price tag.

If I choose to buy the MRP-M350, I will be purchasing it from a Navy Base, and for the MRD-M300, I would buy it from Crutchfield.  Thanks for the input, guys!  Any more would be appreciated!

if your only running a single voice coil, 4 ohm sub then the mrd-m300 isn't the right amp, it's meant to run a 2 ohm load. two 4 ohm speakers, or one dual 4 ohm voice coil sub. not one svc 4 ohm sub

How is it not meant to ccjustin. It can run a 4 ohm sub fine, you will be getting 150 watts RMS in 4 ohms from its single output. There is nothing wrong with running a svc sub off of it, and if he wants to buy another single 4 ohm voice coil Alpine Type S sub in the future he can both off of the amp and get a 2 ohm load like this:
