im about to replace a factory radio with an aftermarket.

You should not have any problems doing this car as long as you have the proper parts. Metra part# 99-7861 for the kit and 70-1721 for the harness.

Be careful when removing the trim piece around the radio, its soft plastic and easy to mess up without the right panel remover.
