I just installed an mtx 81000d mono amp in my truck and i am not getting any power from it. the capacitor that is right next to it is also not getting a digital readout. although there is a live wire into it. i also bypassed the capasitor and ran the power straight to the amp and still nothing. im pretty sure on the remote turn on lead that is hooked up corectly i am going to try that next. and the fuse in the amp should be ok. is there anything else that could be wrong?

take a DMM and meter for power right on the main power input to the amp and also on the remote lead. i would tend to suspect that you have no primary power there.

Sounds like you don't have a good ground or your fuse next to the battery is burnt.

Or the remote on lead has been shorted out.
