i think bigbang wanted to give you ideas on what size/shape of subwoofer box(es) to use. a good system is like an orchestra. every component in the setup must be in tune with every other, in order to have the best overall quality. I am already suffering from such a problem and am goign to try a few experiments.keep looking for ideas on here because you will get good ones I am sure; i have ran out of them with my own issues. but please give more details, as the more details you give, the better idea anyone would have and the better they can help you. good luck.

Never heard of hooking two amps to 1 sub?

You do mean 1 amp to 1 sub right? If there 4 ohm coils hook it parallel, you can ship the other amp to me, i'll pay shipping, lolposted_image

One amp to one voice coil, one amp to the other. The trick isnt wiring, the trick is setting up the amps to work in harmony. If you get one amp turned up higher than the other than the sub wont move properly and your gonna mess it up. I would suggest getting professionals involved in this one. I did it at my shop and It took me over an hour to get it to where I was satisfied with its preformance.

You got to be very careful doing that. If you make a mistake, you can wind up with costly repairs if not overheating or burning out one of the amps (if not both). Bridging is normally done using the left and right channel of the same amp, thereby converting a stereo amp to mono amp while achieving a more powerful output than a single channel.

Just read a article on the crossfire vr1000d....posted_image

It stated the following:

The latest version of the company's legendary Class D is the VR1000D. Like its predecessors, it's a single channel amp that uses a true mono-block design. This circuit arrangement makes it possible to bridge two amps together for a combined rating of 2,000 watts into 2 ohms. Linking the two is fairly easy and requires a single RCA connector and a 10" length of 8awg wire. A switch on the amplifier selects Master/Slave configurations per each amp. This allows for all of the functions including the gain setting, crossover adjustments, and subsonic filter to be set on only one amplifier. This is important because we are using two of these bridged together to reach the 2,000 watt spec for this test.
