ive got a 2003 silverado and i wanna hook and amp up to the stock headunit.ive alreayd got the adapter needed but im not real sure what wires on the truuck that i need to tie the adapter wires into.. the adapter has the rca jacks on one end and on the other ihas 5 wires 2 of them are for the left channel stereo and 2 for the right channel and 1 other wire that says "common ground" and im not quite sure where to hook these 5 wires up..

I did this on my 99 tahoe a few years ago and had good luck with it.  Just find the wires to the rear speakers.  Get you a print out of which is negative and which is positive.  Hook the left channel on the adapter to the positive and negative of the left rear speakers.. then do the same with the right.  Then just ground the other wire.  Worked flawless for me..

You can find the speaker wires running in the driver's side floor board.  The colors are LR + brown, LR - yellow and RR+ Dark Blue, RR- Light Blue
