I am looking at this head unit and wanted to see if i should go with this or the alpine 7998 or the alpine 7995 or the alpine 9815? I am up in the air and need some help. I want the best sound quality and a nice look, but sound quality is most important. Any input would be great.

This is a great cd player when used in conjunction with the processor. If the combination unit is out of touch with the money you would like to invest, then have a look at the Eclipse CD8443, CD8053 or Nakamichi head units, my third choice would then be Alpine.

Well what about not using the processor, just the head unit? Is it worth the money?

I am not a Pioneer dealer thus I would want to do more research into it so I can make an informed decision. Many here on this site will highly recommend the Eclipse line as their first choice.

i have an 8443 in mt Jetta and it is an amazing deck 13 band eq on board...24 bit D/A converter.... its tight right out of the box...a processor will really sweeten it up.
