ok heres the setup....
i have the main power coming from the battery then i have an xtra battery in the trunk a power cap and fuse blocks and 2 amps..... how would i set this up... mainly the battery and the power cap thanks
you need a battery isolator. I'm running a stinger 200amp relay for mine. Essentially what it does is splits the power comming from the alternator to both batteries.
So you run the wire from the alternator to the relay/isolator, and from the relay/isolator to the batteries (1 wire per battery). Make sure to fuse it!
The cap can be put anywhere after the aux. battery (the one for the stereo) and before the amplifier. Some run them inline with the power to the amplifier, some run a seperate wire just to the cap. Either works fine. If you're running multiple amps, then using the seperate wire would be easier.
Are your fuse blocks 1-in 1-out, or 1-in multiple-out?
And believe me, running 2 amps and a second battery isn't odd! I'm running 3 amps and getting ready to put my second battery in!

Just as wvsquirrel said but make sure you have a dry cell battery. If you are going to use a regular battery make sure that it is in a sealed enclosure that vents directly outside the car.
Regular wet batteries produce gases and sometimes leaks, this could be a dangerous combination inside a sealed compartment such as a trunk...
well i know the equipment i have will work b/c it was setup before in a nice setup in the trunk but he ripped it all out and now he wants it all again...
