Ok, ive done some moderate installs, but obviously not too experienced. i was just connecting everything, and wanted to test the HU to Amp connection, make sure the rca's are hooked up and the speakers are working.

however, i was stupid enough to put power to my amp straight from my yellow top without any inline fuse. grounded to teh battery, and as soon as i touched the remote wire to the amp to screw it down, the amp flicked on, then flicked off. now i cant get it to turn on, no matter what i do. I put the inline fuse it, then grounded, and ran the remote wire straight from (-) on the battery, still nothing.

if checked the fuse on the amp, still good. if i did fry something, where do i start looking? the only place in town that will take a look, wants $150 just to diagnose, i dont have that option right now, but worst comes to worst :(

the amp is a phoenix gold reactor

HU is pioneer dvh-700

batt is yellow top deep cycle

Are you sure the fuse in the amp is good? Did you check it with a meter or just look at it? It should have less than one ohm between the terminals. Is there more than one fuse? Do you have +12V at the power and at the remote terminals? If you are certain these are good, then you may have damaged the amp, although what you did should not have. Some amps also have internal fuses soldered to the circuit boards.

MIght just have a dud amp as well if it is new.

Ignore the remote on wire for now. Use a small wire as a jumper and connect the remote on to the constant power wire. Have the ground wire connected first. Is the fuse still good in the power line near the battery? Do you have a good ground. After running this jumper wire di the amp turn on?

some times a fuse looks ok, but it will not work. check with a dmm. you can open up the amp and just look at it. does it look fried? black burnt look on the board. smell it. does it smell burnt? if it is burnt just go by a new amp. it should be cheaper than having it repared. depenging where you go. good luck
