I didn't even think the new GTO was on the street yet.  So it looks like you'll be first and get to tell us.  I have only seen them in car shows.

I've looked at them at the dealerships..Not a bad looking car! Unfortunately haven't touched one so I don't have any tips.. (So yeah this post is pointless..) Let us know how it goes I wouldn't expect anything crazy..

Fast4popper how did you get the head unit out?

I just picked up my new GTO and I am trying to get the head unit out.  There are 4 holes like a ford radio but they are about 3" apart.  So i took 2 sets of ford keys and bent them and shoved them in the holes but i cant seem to get the head unit out.

That "GTO" is actually a left hand drive version of Australia's Holden Monaro. Maybe a couple of our aussie members could shed some insight. From looking at pictures of the dash, you might have to take off the alumminum trim around the head unit (mabe by blaupunkt) to get it out.

Has anyone had any luck with the GTO?  I've got one, and the factory system isn't bad, but it's not great.  I also want a line-in for my portable MP3 player, so I've resigned to the fact that I'll probably have to replace at least the amp, and probably the head unit as well.  Unfortunately, I don't know much about car stereo installation.  Anyone?

Thanks.

Ok I got my xm installed finally.

I used 2 sets of ford stereo removal keys (straightened out so I can insert them.)

removed the head unit. removed the plastic dash shrouds (around the shifter first then around the head unit) look for the hidden screw below where the ash tray would go if it had one installed.

And I had to use antenna adapters for a VW.
