Hello,

I'm new with the audio installs and I've tried the search function repeatedly.  Here is the scenario...I'm planning to install two amps and 1 1.0 farad cap.  The 2 channel amp will be pushing 150watts and the 4 channel amp will be pushing about 300 watts.  I have a general concept of the install but I'm cloudy on a few things.

As I run the 4 guage power wire (with 60 amp fuse under the hood) from the battery to the trunk am I suppose to:

A. connect the 4 guage power wire into the capacitor, then lead the wire into a power distribution block and split it into two 8 guage power wires and into the 2 amps?  will i need an extra inline fuse from the distribution block to the amp?

B. connect the 4 guage power wire into the capacitor first, then use two 8 guage power wires to power the amps? and will i need an extra inline fuse from the cap to the amps?

Thanks ahead.

Here's some reading that should answer your questions... Stiffening Caps and amplifiers

The first half is info on capacitors in general, the last half is on stiffening capacitors (which is what you have)
