I have a set of swr-1021D subs and wanted to know if i should wire them Series or Parallel? Here is the setup of my systm now

(2) SWR-1021D 2Ohm+2Ohm

JBL POWER Series BP300.1 Mono 300wrms

Alpine 7863 CD Changer

Any Suggestions would be great. I think they are series now but i would have to check the box and see how they are wired on the inside. Thanks

If the amp can handle it, go parallel

If this amp is one ohm stable you can go with the 2 subs in parallel, I'm not sure it is stable to one Ohm.  Otherwise leave it in series for a 4 ohm load and 150 watt to both speakers.

The Alpine SWR-1021D is a DVC 2-ohm speaker.  The JBL mono amp is stable at a 2-ohm load.  Wire both speakers for 4-ohms (put both voice coils in series) and then connect them to the amp in parallel (for a net 2-ohm load on the amp.)  Here's a diagram:

I didn't research the subs, but from the description they look like dual-2ohm voice coil subs. So shouldn't he wire the voice coils on each sub in series, and then wire the two subs in parallel, achieving an overall load of 2ohm's? (Could also wire the voice coils in parallel, and then the subs in series to achieve the same load I think). I've never wired dual voice subs, so I'm just going from my readings, and again, I haven't looked up the subs or amp (assumes the amp is 2 ohm stable).
