a compent speaker if your refering to a compent set, consist of a midbass and a tweeter, a coaxial speaker the midbass and the tweeter share the same axial, marine i would say are made for in a boat can with stand water :-), and center cannel im really not sure on either...

why do you ask that?

An acoustic measurement of sound energy, typically expressed in dB SPL.

it is what is produced from loudspeakers such as a subwoofer (Bass)

It depends on personal preference.  If you want clean thump and clear highs you want SQ, or If you like your heart to pound in your chest when sitting in your ride you want SPL.

posted_image that depends on you....

SQ is better all around system as far as sound, SPL is just loud...

If you look at it from a competion point of view the world record spl cars are tuned to play a certain ferquency like say 42hz, well your not going to want to listen to a cd in a spl vehicle it would sound like a$$, where on the other hand if you were to listen to a Sound Quality vehicle it would have spl but not to the extreme of an spl vehicle....

Sound Quality is much hard to achieve and in saying that I dont mean that high spl levels are easy to achieve , its just that a SQ car would have far less spl levels but would sound good....

hope that makes sense and not to confusing....

SQ is what it is sound quality, and SPL is bass
