hey all........I need a little help........I have a 2002 pontiac sunfire. sedan.........I have a kid so trunk space is a must.......I have a kenwood KFC-W3005 12 inch sub need to build a box.... what demensions should I go with to get good sound but still save trunk space........I want to go with ported but don't know the size or wut wood to use.........help me please.........

you will probobly want at least 1.4 or so cubic feet if you want a ported box for that sub. Are you sure you want ported though? What kind of music do you listen to? You would be able to use a smaller box if it was sealed.

really, you do have a small trunk already you might want to go with sealed just for space. for most sub boxes you use a 3/4" mdf board. with a good sealant and super glue or screws.

If you need trunk space then go with a sealed, besides it will sound better. Ported boxes require more airspace so they can be consideribly bigger. Build a sealed box 14x14x14 and fill it with polyfil, it will sound good and you will hear it fine.

thanks I listen to alot of hip-hop some electrionic tunes.......but don't you need more powerfull subs to pound a sealed box......can I port the 14*14*14 box????????

That woofer works best in a 1.5 CUFT ported enclosure. That's more like 15X15X16. It's rated at 175 watts RMS and to 25Hz.
