I just bought a MA audio M683ix amplifier to push two JBL 1020 subwoofeers. I have never set my amps on my own (friends have always done it for me)
Is there a proper setting to break the subs in any settings higher lower etc? And then what is the normal settings after the break in period?
Also how true are MA's ratings on power output? The specs looked great for the price

Also how about hooking up the cap? Should I hook it up  with the power wire un plugged at the battery? And then plug it in and charge my battery?
Thank you

Got a new amp that is 2 ohm stable and also has a higher RMS. SO if anyone wants to buy the legacy's let me know One new one used......

MA amps are pretty good.  If you have a new cap there should be charging directions with it.

RE: breaking in subs.  In general, car audio subs require a little break in, but not like high-end home equipment.  I'd just set up the amp properly (set the gain to match the HU output) and then run the system with normal music at no more than 1/2 volume for about the first four to six hours of listening.  Then you should be safe to turn in up beyond that without risking damage to the JBL's.
