ok, my head unit is only giving me 4 speaker outputs @ 35watts each. now to add a sub i need 2 run it off a amp rite??
so this amp needs an RCA input, so i need a LOC. now i can do it with a 4ch amp, but i wanted 2 c how i could do it with a 2ch amp?
my lil problem is: i wana take a feed off 1 of my speaker outputs off the head unit, but i still wana run the speaker th@s on it now aswell, can this be done???
i know after i find the answer to th@, i can send a feed 2 the amp, bridge the 2 channels and hook the sub onto it.
also i did a lil research into LOC's, does it matter how many watts is going into the LOC?
my guess 4 a 4ch amp would be, get a LOC, d/c the speakers off the rear speaker output of the head unit, feed into the LOC, then hook up the amp, put the 2 rear speakers on channels 1&2 of the amp and then bridge channels 3&4 and add my sub to it...... plz correct me if i've got it wrong.
and 1 other queary, the LOC is only gona give me 1 set of RCA outputs 2 the amp, yet some amps have 2 sets of RCA input, would i just put a Y spliter on my 1 set 2 make it into 2??

You can still run speakers when you have an LOC connected to a speakers cable, and most LOCs do not like to recieve more then 25 to 30 watts RMS it should say on its cover usually). You are correct on everything else though, just use rca splitters on the output coming from the LOC and then bridge the back two channels for your sub.
thanx for th@, but my RMS input will 35watts, will i still be ok, or will i have 2 get a special higher wattage 1??
Answer 1; Subs need external amplification.
Answer 2; 2 channel amps can be fed from the rear signal or front signal, doesn't matter, personal opinion.
Answer 3; Yes.
Answer 4; Yes it matters how much power is going thru the convertor. You have to make sure the convertor can handle the power the radio is putting out.
Answer 5; To the statement that follows, personal opinion. I don't believe in amplifying rear speakers without amplifying front speakers. Another different approach is to feed a 4 channel sub amp with both a front and rear signal and bridge the 4 channel to make it a 2 channel. This would give you constant bass when you fade the speakers.

Answer 6; Yes you are correct, but if you use a 4 channel convertor or, two 2 channel convertors you do not have to use splitters.
