I just bought this head unit the other day. I installed it and am having problems clearing the demostration mode. It says to hold button 5 down and hit the reset to clear it but everytime I do it always goes stright back to Demo mode. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do? Thank your for your help

Call Kenwood. If that doesn't get you anywhere, Take it back to where you got it from. I know this may seem like common sense, but if you are doing what you are told to do. There must be something wrong with it.

just for the sake of the archived postings, i'm going to post what Kenwood tech support told me:

press down button [5] and hold it down

press and release the little "reset" button with a pen tip (keep holding down button [5]

let the deck flash and whir a little bit until the "STANDBY" screen comes back on

NOW you can release the button [5]

worked like a charm...the manuals just don't say that you have to hold down button [5] all the way THROUGH the reset mode...
