After I added a relay to my remote wire (connected pin 30 to power for 3 monitors and 2 amplifier remote wires), my subs started popping but only during turn off. I am under the assumption that the amps are turning off AFTER the radio turns off because the relay is discharging. Under that assumption, is it possible to put the relay and the two remote wires in parallel off of the head unit remote? (that is split the remote wire from the head unit into 3, one to the relay, and the other two to the amp remote wires) I know the voltage will be the same to each of the 3 wires, but I'm not sure if the amp remotes need a minimum current.
Any other ideas, please post.
Why not just add a manual switch to the line before or after the relay (depending on how many of the components are causing the problem)? I've done it with most of my setups using a varity of rocker and toggle switches. They still make for clean installs and can add a nice look to the system. And off the record, hidden kill switches make for a great and proveable "Honest officer, my system isn't working properly so it wasn't me you heard"
And it's not necessarily the relay that isn't discharging, more than likely it's the amp itself not dissipating the charge at the same time as the headunit cuts the remote feed.

Donate to the12volt.comThe reason I'm suspecting the relay is the cause is that it wasn't popping before I added the relay. It just seems a little bit of a hassle to have to turn off the switch before turning off the radio, but if that's the only way to fix it, consider it done. Are there any other solutions?
