Hello,
Recently I just picked up an Alpine TMX R680A overhead TV monitor for my 98 Suburban. I'm planning to install it, but I misplaced the instructions. I'd like to know where underneath the headliner can I tap for power? I believe there's a red wire and yellow wire.
Thanks.
If you are refering to the yellow and red wires for the Alpine screen, the yellow wire needs a battery 12 volt + source and the red wire needs a switched 12 volt + source. You should fuse these cicuits separetely. A source of battry power can usually be found above the headliner as a orange wire for the domelamps. A switch source should be found either at the ignition harness as a thick brown wire or as a yellow or green wire next to orange wire in the radio's plug. You can also use the orange in the radio plug for battery power.

Thanks for the break down. Just curious, you said that I can tap the Alpine screen's yellow battery 12 volt power to the headliner domelamps' orange wire for power. What about the Alpine screen's red ignition wire? Is there any wire I can tap off underneath the headliner besides running it the radio?
Also...which route would be recommended? Tapping the wires underneath the headliner or to the radio harness?
Thanks for the feedback
I personally would run both wires to the radio harness.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
I would run it to the radio harness also. I guess the electric seats would have a constant 12 volts also but I would just run it to the radio so you don't run into any noise. Get ready to take your whole headliner apart.
Take the headliner off and I guess you could either run diagonaly across your "ceiling" to your front left or right A column or directly left or right to the columns that separate your front doors from your back doors. Those plastic pieces should just snap off, from there you could either tap into your ignition harness or the back of your radio.
