(1) alright guys today i installed my clarion 9 band digital eq, but i'm havin a problem... after it plays for about 10-15 minutes, it cuts out... you know when you have your TV on for a while and then when you turn it off it gives off like a quick burst of high frequencies?? well that's what this sounds like... it gives like a quick high frequency and then the power dims out... i'm thinkin that maybe it's because i'm running it off the same +12v that i'm running my HU off of... but i'm not sure...

(2) i thought the blue wire was the remote wire... my eq won't turn on without the blue/white wire... the amp didn't turn on without the blue/white wire either...

(3) when i turn the balance on my HU all to one side of the car (either left or right) the bass sounds really crisp and clean and the music sounds really rich... but when i have the balance set at zero, the sound is kinda distorted and the bass isn't as clean anymore... does this mean that my AMP isn't powerful enough?? it's puttin out 40x4...

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP GUYS!!!

Try running your eq's power directly to your battery and see what happens. Your blue wire is the turn on lead in most cars and trucks made by GM. For answer number 3 your eq's pre-outs could be clipping or it could just be a defective eq.

i'll try runnin power directly to it... and for (3), my HU did the same thing before i put my eq in... i thought is would go away once i get my eq in cuz i only had one pre-out and i had to split the signal goin to the amp... the eq now has 1 in and 3 out so i figured it would act like a signal amplifier... it sounds better when it's on but it cuts out and still sounds awesome all on one side....
