Just found out that front seat kick panel area Q-Form component speaker enclosures are available to fit my 1998 Pontiac Sunfire.  Historically, such Q-forms have only been made for large SUV type vehicles, so I'm concerned these new ones may be "too large."  Curious - has anyone seen these installed in a smaller car (like my Pontiac), and if so, did they appear to be "oversized?"  (ergo, eating up too much legroom?)   I realize this is a heavily subjective issue, but thought the gang that hangs out here might have useful opinions on it.

I never liked Q-Forms for the sole reason of imaging. They make the enclosure to fit the car not to get the best imaging from the car. That's the main reason you have kick pods is to make your imaging better is it not ?

Jeff, your response and question are interesting.  Yes, the reason I'm looking into Q-forms is to improve imaging, but you imply that don't do that as well as other approaches.  Do you mean there are better ways of setting up pods in the kick panel area (ergo, custom built pods?) , or do you mean the kick panel area in general is less desirable than other spots for imaging (and if so, what are those better options?)

Thanks!!!!

Hey Mike, what I was trying to say is that I do not like the pre-fabbed mass produced kick pods that are out on the market because they don't put imaging as high on the priority scale as they do fitment and looks. The kick panel to me is one of the best places for equal path speaker placement ( my opinion ) and if you want to get the best out of your car.... make ones yourself over the pre-fabbed ones like the Q-Forms . I have a manual transmission vehicle so Q-Forms do even make anything for manual transmission vehicles because the woofer pods are so large and angled so steep that  it ends up getting in the way of the clutch. Have you ever worked with fiberglass ? There was another post that I answered to on how to make your own custom kick pods..... hope you read it and if you have any questions about it you can email me or post the questions here.
