thats what i thought so my battery is shot and there is probaly something wrong with my alt because i know my amp is sucking the juice out of the battery damn i have an audiobahn hct1500 amp running 4 12 inch kickers compvr but i have two jbl 1200 mono amps on the way i need to fix this problem soon because if my deck is shutting off each time i turn the volume up its not gonna work when i have the jbl amps my car is an 70 buick skylark with an oldsmobile 350 rocket. the alt is an 140 amp not 150 from jc whitney the chromed out one. so do i just have an cheap alt or i should just get an new battery?

I noticed you said "ampS" with an S. This might be your problem. There is an easy way to calculate just how much work your alt. and batt. are doing.
