Hi I have two 12" Alpine SWS 1241 Subs and I would like to find out what type of box and what size of box would sound best in a 88 Toyota Celica hatchback. I have a Alpine MRD M500 powering the two 12's.  How shoudl I hook them up to as series or parallel?  Here is a pic of what kinda of box I'm thinking of and the dimensions right now of the room in the back.

Your subs are SVC at 4-ohms.  Your amp is stable to 2-ohms, so you can wire them in parallel to the amp.  As far as an enclosure, build one with two sealed chambers, each at 0.9 to 1.2 CUFT.  Make the enclose whatever shape will best fit into your vehicle, paying attention to the internal volume for each sub.

And make sure the box is properly mounted down.

from experience with my subs, they sound better at a little larger enclosure than the spec sheet says. im not too sure about the 12's tho. My 10's are in about a cuft each.
