OK FELLOW AUDIO ENTHUSIASTS.. I HAVE A 1993 LEXUS ES300 AND IM PUTTING TOGETHER A CUSTOM SYSTEM. I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE FACTORY RADIO SO I WAS THINKING OF ADDING LINE OUTPUT CONVERTERS. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF SOME HI QUALITY CONVERTERS? OR DOES ANYONE TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THE FACTORY RADIO IDEA?

THANX

Well the big deal with the fac. radio is the voltage the radio puts out. If you are not looking for anything too loud go with the loc. If not get an aftermarket radio.

The aftermarket route would be the best idea if your putting together a pretty good system. Who would want to put together an excellent system only to not let your amps and speakers perform their best because of the head-unit? Most LOC have the same quality of output, I guess you could add a line driver to the LOC but it still wouldn't sound as good as something like an Eclipse head-unit's excellent rca outs.

You can get excellent sound quality using the factory HU.  I'm using mine and it's as good as, if not better than, any aftermarket head.  Difference is, the install is much more time-consuming.

Check out David Navone's engineering https://www.davidnavone.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=N-774V

He recommends twisted cable from the factory speaker leads and connecting the LOC close to the amp.  You can email him for specifics.
