I'm going to be installing a JBL BP1200.1 amp for my four Premier 1041DVC subs.  I need to know what size cap I should put in line with that amp.  I'm also going to run the JBL P80.4 amp to my four speakers.  Should I run a cap with that also?  If so, what size?  I just hope that sub amp isn't too much power for my subs, because the only handle 400w RMS per coil.  Anyway, I just need to know cap values.  Thanks.

first to say once again for the forum. caps arent a solution to dimming lights. but for the 1200.1 amp you could go with a 1farad cap or a 1.2 farad cap. for your four channel amp you could buy  a .5 farad cap but it wouldnt be as effective on the mids as it will be on the lows.

a cap is not a magic pill to make your system loud. they do help, BUT you need a good ho alt first. 150 amp should do you well. then add a cap. i use battcaps. they are a batt and a cap in one. 400amp batt and 6 farad cap its awsome. I have a 200amp alt to push it too. that is what makes the system. the alt is the heart of your system make a good one. if you get a battcap you can run both amps off of it.

Ya, I'm working on putting a 160amp GM one wire alternator in my car.  I'll run an optima battery off that alt. in the trunk to run my two amplifiers off of.  My caps will also be running in the trunk off that batt.  I've got it all figured out, I just needed to know cap values to run with those amps.  Thanks you guys, it helped a lot.
