Hi all.Im new to this forum and Im from the UK.Just a quick question on sub boxes.I have read that by putting stuffing into the box helps the performance of the driver. Is this true?Has it got something to do with standing waves? Most pre-built boxes already have a wedged back that reduces this happening.Or is it recommended to put this stuff into custom build boxes?
Another question.I have a mono block amp Vibe VP4(uk only I think) and it produces 1x450WRMS @4Ohm ,1x750WRMS@2Ohm, 1x1200WRMS @10hm.I have two 12" subs connected to the amp with a net impedance of 2Ohm.Now the amp is running 1X750WRMS.What is power is each sub recieving from the amp.Is it 750WRMS each or will each sub receive half that? Thanks.
Each sub will receive half of the 2 ohm power. Dacron, well the jury is still out on it. I use a different product for my sub boxes and had huge success with it. Your right about having a wedge shaped box, it will help prevent a standing wave from occuring. There is nothing wrong with using a little Dacron if you like, it is inexpensive and easy to do, give it a try and see if you notice anything.
