"Hit harder?" Well, that depends on a lot of things, including enclosure type, vehicle, amplifier, etc. But I can say with certainty that CV loudspeakers are far superior in quality to anything Sony has ever made, even their bargain basement V-Max line. If you are buying off eBay beware of defective equipment. Get a warranty from the seller.

The CV V-Max sub is their IT/Vega replacement. It is not CV entry level, that would be the HED series. The V-Max is a cast basket 300w RMS sub works in small enclosure. Think of it as a alpine type "R" with wider frequency reponse, more power handling and cleaner sound.

agreed. I've heard their Xplods and heard CV's. Heaven and Hell difference anyday! I'm quite surprised to see Sony in far less than #1 position.

Im surprised and really not because I have come to learn from a long time that Sony was numero uno once upon a time and still may be in the TV world but as far as speakers for home and car, no way man. Bose is far better at home and CV is anyday better both home and car. My friend played very small CV speakers in his living room and they blew my mind like no double sized Sony has ever done in my life. So at first yes I was surprised but now I see that sony is just a "name" like "Lexus" and "Toyota" are just the same chassis but different logos!
