Be better off if you caould build a box specifically for that sub. Not only will it sound better, its made for that sub and it'll be cheaper than those pre-fabed boxes.

I also wouldnt cheap out on the amp...thats like the heart for the sub.

Do not ever use a prefab box for these subs, these subs need the proper box for them. It needs to be a sealed box of between 1.1 - 1.25 cu.ft. per sub. Makes sure that each sub has it's own separate chamber. Make sure the baffle board is a minimum of 1", preferably double 3/4" if possible as these subs have a bad habit of ripping out of the mount. What amps are you considering for these subs and are the subs dual 4 ohm coils or single 4 ohm voice coil?

You need either a monster 2 channel amp (not bloody likely) or a class D mono sub amp that is rated to deliver a minimum of 800watts rms @ 1 ohm mono @ 12 volts. There are a lot of good amps out there that will do this. I happen to like the Concept amps, model # CD1210, Lightning Audio Storm x1.1000.1D and then everyone seems to like the JBL 1200.1. These are all solid amplifiers that produce the power that you will need. An amp that states 1000watts on the heatsink should almost always be dismissed as garbage. A real honest to god 1000 watt rms mono amp will have a minimum of 90 amps of fusing in it.
