I was looking  at this sub  https://www.jlaudio.com/enclosures/HObp112W3v2.html  and was wondering if Bandpass is the way to go and what are the Major diffrences between Bandpass and Ported or just a sealed box, and if anyone has used this sub/box before if you liked it? this is the 12inch model

Depends on personal preference, A bandpass box tends to produce basically one bass note, whereas sealed or ported boxes, depending on speaker specs., reproduce much more defined bass notes.

think of it like this... kinda. Have you ever blown into a coke bottle, and gotten that HMMMMMMMM noise? Well, thats what a ported box does.(i know someone is gonna jump down my throat for that analogy)  At a certain frequency, its a little louder/deeper (whichever term u prefer). With a bandpass box, its the same thing, but, you only get that one frequency. The rest ... i dunno what happens to them... but they arent there anymore. If you are going for good overall bass response, I would suggest the Sealed box. You get all the bass notes in the song, and they are so easy to make. Ported, you dont lose the frequencies, but they are larger and take up some more space. the bandpass, well, they are bulky (looks cool), but, u dont get all the bass u should. I hope that helped.

thapimpfromchi, i believe that noise you are refering to is port noise, which is the air passing over the edge of the port at the high speeds. if you sand down the edges of the port (on the inside of the enclosure) to make them more rounded,  that noise is reduced incrediably.
