i aint trying to be rude or critisising (spelling) JL. but i just feel they're not up to date as other subs would be. they design subs so...diff but it can annoying though. just to give a couple of Ex's: most of the subs, especially the W3's have lil itty bitty binding post, and not the spring loaded or screw loaded binding posts. and all they're subs are foam surround and can be easily punctered through by something

I think what he is trying to say is, that JL is still using ancient materials to make their subs. They arent keeping up with the Jonses'. They still use the foam surrounds, instead of polypropeline (sp), and the stupid binding posts. I see his point exactly. Though, this isnt really a useful thread, more of an opinionated conversation. However, i will agree wth bonny. The w3's and the w6's have been updated, but the w3 still uses the cheap binding posts. Its strange. Oh well, they still make one hell of a product, and in the end, thats all that matters. Spring loaded posts dont help the woofer perform any better, so why waste the extra .03 cents to use them right? lol. just my .02 cents. laters.

ya but still though...the w7's still have a foam surround. and the little itty bitty binding posts for w3 makes it hard for when you want to hook up monster wire! oh well...:P
